More about me
This is why I am a photographer…
Since purchasing my first Digital SLR camera in 2006 I have become more and more obsessed with all thing photography, I love being able to capture the little details while still showing the bigger picture. At the same time connecting with people through shared experience and implied meaning.
My photography developed extensively throughout 2008 when I completed Project 365, which is a photography project where the participant takes a photo every day for 365 days, or one full year. I chose to take two photos a day, one of myself and an image of something else I saw each day. Both sets of results were highly interesting to look back on and have shown me a wider range of skills and knowledge that I never knew I possessed.
So much so I have continued the project since then and can’t see a reason to stop.
This is why I am a designer…
All throughout school, I paid very careful attention to the appearance of my assignments and while I didn’t know it at the time I was very much a fan of good design and typography. After school I realised that there was a potential in this interest as a career and decided to investigate further. After a trip to NYC I came home adamant that I wanted to be a designer and enrolled in my Certificate within a month.
After this course I entered the work force completing freelance assignments for various studios and companies around Brisbane, before deciding that I wanted to extend my skills further.
My studies are varied and range from the creation of print design works to interactive media installations. While I am very interested in the interactive side of my course my love is for classic graphic design.
This is why I started making T-shirts…
I am a newcomer in the shirt scene, but am very much enjoying designing not only a tangible product but something wearable and expreses a statement of the wearers beliefs.
